Melvin and Ashley’s wedding and reception venue fell through a few weeks before the wedding. In fact, at our meeting two weeks before the wedding, they had yet to secure a venue and yet, Ashley was calm and smiling and genuinely happy. I kept wondering how she could be so calm…she just seemed so at peace. I think I was more stressed than she was! Fast forward two weeks to the big day (they were able to secure a new venue a week before the wedding) and I finally realized why she was so calm after spending the day with this sweet couple. It didn’t matter to them where they were getting married or how or by whom. The only thing that mattered was that they were marrying each other, their best friend and true love. The kind of happiness that realization brings makes everything else pale in comparison.
Ashley and Melvin we are honored to be able to capture your day for you. In spite of everything; the venue, the storm (it rained HARD that day), and any other issues that arose it was a beautiful, sweet, fun day filled with love and laughter. Your love is sweet and real and true and I hope that we were able to capture that for you. Oh and I’m so glad we were able to shoot the getting ready and first look shots at the farm. I’m loving the apple tree shots (Melvin, your duck tag wedding ring fits right in) and what a great way to spend some time together before things got really crazy.
Ashley made her own bouquet. Just beautiful!
One of my favorite first looks yet. So pretty!
This shot would not be possible without the rain and the gorgeous sunset….thank you Mother Nature!
Had to include this photo because Ashley and Melvin met at Jessica and Jason’s wedding. What a romantic way to start a relationship! Jessica also just so happens to be the owner of White Traditions Bridal House in Saint Charles and that is where Ashley got her beautiful dress. Perfection!!
